There is a kind of white that does not feel empty. It feels warm, quiet, and alive — like light resting on old snow.
This teapot is that white.
White Ice-Crackle, Grown in the Kiln
The glaze is a soft, creamy white, broken by a fine network of ice-crackle (bing lie wen) lines. These lines are not painted, printed, or applied. They form naturally as the glaze cools and contracts at a different rate from the clay body beneath.
No two crackle patterns are ever the same. Turn the teapot in your hand, and the lines shift under the light—some as fine as hair, others deeper and more visible. It rewards slow looking.
Wood-Fired, Oil-Smooth
This piece is wood-fired (chai shao) by Ran Ye Feng Kiln. Wood firing is slow, unpredictable, and demanding. Ash, flame, and temperature movement all leave their mark on the glaze. The result here is a finish that feels oil-smooth (you run) to the touch — soft, glossy, and slightly moist in the hand, as if the surface has absorbed light.
Wood firing is one of the oldest and most respected firing methods in Chinese ceramics. It cannot be fully controlled. That is exactly why the results can be so beautiful.
A Form Made for Daily Tea
The body is round and generous, with a smooth dome lid and a balanced loop handle. The spout is shaped for a clean, steady pour. Inside, a built-in multi-hole filter keeps leaves where they belong so that you can brew loose tea directly in the pot.
This is a teapot designed for daily use — not a fragile object to keep behind glass.
Made by Hand
Each teapot is shaped, glazed, and fired by hand at Ran Ye Feng Kiln. The ice-crackle pattern, the subtle variations in glaze tone, and the slight differences in weight and surface are all natural results of handmade wood-fired ceramics.
Tiny iron spots, faint color shifts, and uneven crackle lines are not defects. They are the signature of the kiln.
Each piece is unique. No two are identical.

Why It Belongs on Your Tea Table
This is not a factory teapot. It is a wood-fired, hand-glazed piece with a crackle surface that will never repeat. It brings together the quiet beauty of white ceramic and the raw character of flame.
Each piece is unique. Once it is sold, it will not find the same cup, only a similar one.
